The soft playground at the Outlet Collection at Riverwalk boasts a Louisiana theme complete with a large cypress tree, clams, crabs, crawfish, a mother and baby alligator and pelican. Kroc Centers around the country are offering recreation outlets to families in poor and underserved neighborhoods. The Kroc Center of the Mississippi Gulf Coast serves those hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina.
Shaun Collyer and his wife, Sara, opened an indoor playground in Asheville, NC called Mountain Play Lodge and it will make you want to pick up your kids and move east. The Collyers thought of parents, too! They have a gorgeous parents area where parents can see 99% of the playground. For the 1% that parents can't see, the Collyers installed a video monitor. So, parents can enjoy the lovely stone fireplace, comfy chairs, coffee and free wi-fi while their kids go bananas all around them.
Working with PLAYTIME, Greenwood Athletic Club "tried to select the pieces with the most play value" and reports that both kids and parents alike love the new play elements. The play area has even helped to recruit new members to the athletic facility.
